When she was a child, Dixie Crane used to spend time with her grandparents during the summer. Her grandma was a serious and quiet woman who spent hours creating beautiful crocheted masterpieces, such as household decorator items, and clothing. Dixie was intrigued by her grandmother’s “flying fingers” as balls of thread were somehow transformed into beautiful doilies, table cloths and even Easter dresses. One day she asked her grandmother to teach her to crochet. She thought this might be something she’d like to do--but more than that, felt it might be a way to have a special connection with her Grandma. Dixie had no idea at that time that crocheting would become a very pleasurable and therapeutic part of her own life.
Dixie prefers to use interesting and high-end yarns and threads in order to create modern, unique clothing items.
